Founder & Clinical Director

Gabbie Veevers-Carter

LCSW

My goal is to help clients uncover their true potential and lead lives worth celebrating. My counseling style is humorous, compassionate, and transparent, I listen with empathy, and I maintain accountability, because being on your side means supporting you in becoming your best self.

Background

Where I'm coming from.

I have been practicing social work since 2012, and my work experience spans in-patient and outpatient hospital care, schools, multiple levels of care in eating disorder treatment centers, and Human Resources in the startup space. That breadth shapes how I approach each client — I understand that life is messy, multidimensional, and rarely fits a clinical box.

I founded GN Counseling and Wellness because I believed something was missing in the therapy landscape: a practice that combined evidence-based skills with genuine psychodynamic depth, and that treated the hour together as the beginning, not the end, of the work. If you're looking for extra support through a challenging situation, or simply feel ready to move your life in a new direction, I'm here to listen and help you identify what matters.

Approach & Modalities

How I work with clients.

My approach is practical and progressive. I draw from DBT, CBT, and psychodynamic frameworks, applying them fluidly as the client's needs shift. I believe in meeting clients where they are, emotionally and geographically, which is why I offer virtual sessions as the primary mode of care. Together we'll unearth long-standing patterns or negative perceptions that may be holding you back, and build real tools for navigating what comes next.

Who I Work With

You might be a good fit if…

Gabbie works best with motivated, high-functioning adults who are ready to do the work, and who want a therapist who will be honest with them, not just validating.

You're carrying a perfectionist mindset and feeling the weight of high standards
You want to understand yourself more deeply, not just feel better
You're navigating an eating disorder or a complicated relationship with food and your body
You're in the middle of a major life transition and feeling unsteady
You want to be an active participant in your relationships, not just a passenger
You've done some therapy before but are looking for something more skills-oriented
What to Expect

What our sessions actually look like.

Sessions with Gabbie are structured but not rigid. Expect directness, warmth, and honest conversation, including about what's working and what isn't.

01
An honest first conversation
The first session is about understanding your history, your goals, and whether the fit feels right, for both of us.
02
Collaborative goal-setting
We'll build a treatment plan together early on, with clear benchmarks so you know what progress looks like.
03
Real tools, not just talk
Every session should leave you with something tangible, a skill, a reframe, a clearer understanding of a pattern you've been living inside.
04
Accountability without judgment
Gabbie will hold you to your goals. That's not the same as pressure, it's respect for your capacity to grow.
